TORONTO, Canada - July 11, 2001 - CNC Global Limited, Canada's largest full-service technology staffing firm, today announced the launch of CNC Global Connect, a leading-edge proprietary recruitment and workflow management system designed to help clients across North America attract and retain top quality technology professionals with greater speed and efficiency. The system was launched today at COMDEX Canada, the nation's premier technology showcase event. At a time when Canada's Software Human Resources Council reports that more than 50 per cent of employers have difficulty finding the technology workers they need, the launch of CNC Global Connect signals added value for hiring managers faced with shrinking recruitment budgets and persistent demands for skilled resources.
CNC Global has now invested close to $2 million to develop the industry's most robust candidate resourcing infrastructure. Drawing on two decades of experience, the firm designed and developed CNC Global Connect completely in-house. The new Web-based system allow the company's 160-person recruitment and service team to attract, search for, screen and submit selected candidates quickly and easily anytime from virtually any desktop.
The system was built using the latest Microsoft development tools and runs on Windows NT and SQL Server. The application will soon be ported over to Windows 2000 as part of the company's larger technology infrastructure renewal, which includes the deployment of enterprise-grade redundant servers, a gigabit Ethernet backbone and wireless networking technology. While product will not be made available on the market at this time, CNC Global clients will benefit from the added velocity and quality assurance CNC Global Connect brings to the process of acquiring high-tech workers.
"In light of recent economic strain, few companies are making this type of investment in infrastructure." said Robert Beauchemin, President and Chief Executive Officer of CNC Global. "Yet now more than ever we are seeing companies approach the hiring process as a strategic investment. Customers want and need staffing solutions, not just resumes, which they can generally find on their own. CNC Global Connect affords us a unique opportunity to help our customers maximize their technology staffing efforts by offering them capabilities they cannot get elsewhere."
A key feature of CNC Global Connect functionality is its ability to capture vast amounts of new candidate data on an ongoing basis. This is achieved through an easy-to-use career management interface, available online for candidates who register at cncglobal.com. Both active job seekers and potential candidates interested in tracking opportunities can complete a detailed profile, including information about their current skills, work experience, and career preferences. Based on the data provided, the system automatically generates a customized selection of jobs, updated every 24 hours. Technology professionals using the system can review, store and apply for multiple opportunities quickly and easily with a single click 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. To date, the system has captures over 225,000 unique profiles, with approximately 4,500 new candidates coming in monthly.
"Providing innovative tools and resources to technology professionals is in line with our partnership approach to career management," said John Chettleburgh, Chief Development Officer and the executive sponsor for CNC Global's E-business initiatives. "By providing an effective and convenient vehicle for technology professionals to manage their career choices, we are dramatically enhancing our ability to secure access to the best available technology talent. Additionally, we are building better links to those professionals who have already chosen CNC Global as their career and consulting partner. Clearly, this is a win-win situation for bot the clients and technology professionals we service."
CNC Global Connect is the latest in a line of proven recruitment tools and processes utilized by the firm, along with detailed interviewing and screening, rigorous skills assessment, and extensive reference checking, to help customers access better quality candidates, accelerate and simplify the hiring process, and contain costs. The launch of CNC Global Connect represents an important advance for CNC Global, as the company further demonstrates its commitment to bringing added value to traditional, proven staffing methodologies.
